I was Alexander Anufriev’s direct manager for more than five years at inSales, an e-commerce platform for online stores. During that time, Alexander grew from a strong individual contributor into a senior-level frontend developer, working primarily with JavaScript, TypeScript, and Vue 2–3, including taking part in the migration from Vue 2 to Vue 3.
I’d like to highlight two particularly strong projects:
— Visual Infographic Editor: a full-featured graphic editor in the browser, comparable in functionality to Canva or Figma. This was a major initiative that took more than a year to develop and included shapes and backgrounds, text blocks, AI-powered features such as background removal and image enhancement, object manipulation, cropping, batch processing, template saving, and ready-to-use templates. Today, the tool is actively used by around 3,000 users.
— Abandoned Carts: a dedicated section with analytics, bulk and trigger-based campaigns, and detailed statistics. This is a paid feature for larger customers, currently used by around 200 online stores. It has already generated approximately twice the revenue needed to cover its development costs.
From a technical perspective, I consider Alexander a strong senior frontend developer. He has excellent JavaScript skills and solid expertise in both Vue 2 and Vue 3. He is also very precise when implementing designs: he consistently delivers pixel-accurate interfaces while at the same time suggesting thoughtful and meaningful improvements.
I’d also like to highlight his documentation skills. Alexander wrote both technical and user documentation to a standard I would normally expect from a technical writer. His documentation was detailed, thorough, and something he genuinely enjoyed doing. I have rarely seen this level of quality in reports and instructions from developers on other teams.
Alexander was deeply involved in the product beyond his immediate engineering responsibilities. He helped the support team with technically complex issues, investigated customer problems, participated in product discussions, and proactively suggested improvements to both the platform and our team processes.
I highly recommend Alexander as a strong frontend developer for a product team where not only code quality matters, but also deep product understanding, ownership of outcomes, and the ability to see complex projects through to completion.
I’m confident he would be a valuable addition to any team building complex, user-facing interfaces.
